Between 6 June 2015 and 5 September 2015, the art collective flooded a gallery in Bogotá for 'Limits of a Known Territory'As the viewer walks around the space on stepping stones, there are streams of water coming from the ceiling, but some are suspended still in the air, dripping faster than naturally possible, or even up towards the ceiling. The illusion is created by a series of fast flickering lights from the ceiling. The installation is intended to awe the viewer and prompt some kind of thinking about the piece.

"'Limits of a Known Territory' is, Rucki explains, an intriguing mix of 'art, metaphysics and science'; all useful tools for asking big questions. 'We are interested in systems and models that we, as humans, set up to create order, sense, purpose and stability.'

'These systems can be religious, scientific or whatever, but people often mistake these models for reality. We're fascinated by how these models become the status quo; the ultimate truth, even though they are just models that we set up to eliminate uncertainty. The water droplets invite us to reconsider the assumptions we make about the continuous nature of our universe.'"

'Together'

"Together', the exhibition at the barbican, was a crowd-sourced animation display. From an app they created, the viewers were encouraged to make illustrations using the app that would turn them into small animated loops. As the exhibit remained up, more illustrations from the audience were incorporated into the display, alongside ones created by Universal Everything.

"This work continues the studio’s exploration into methods of generative design. Their role as artists is to define the instructional ‘seed’ which ‘grows’ infinite visual variations often using custom software, and now through the engagement with the public as creators of the outcome. The interactive installation invites viewers, using an app, to create their own characters called "gliders".  They then  "launch" their unique gliders into flight.

Commissioned by Nike, Universal Everything created an interactive installation. Using motion tracking technology, viewers can view their silhouettes on a screen in front of them, formed of colourful thread-like shapes.

In this installation, a grid of emergency beacon lights follow the viewer around the space using kinetic technology. 

"The installation exploits a transfer of technologies from existing industrial products. The beacon lights have had their internal parts replaced with custom hardware, enabling the rotation of the reflector and lamp brightness to be individually controlled. Thermal imaging cameras have been adapted to track the participants’ movement through the space.

‘Beacon’ is orchestrated in real-time by a bespoke control system, which uses tracking information from the cameras to coordinate an interactive and highly responsive behaviour."

"In May 2013 Adidas launched the Adidas Lab in central London – a temporary interactive and immersive event focussing on innovation in football. Fans invited to the event were given the chance to preview and try out unreleased products.

For this event we created a 15m smart track to measure speed, work rate and skill. Fans logged in to the event using an RFID wristband. As they completed shuttle-run and ball control challenges, three Kinect cameras and 4 infra-red sensors captured their movement and their stats were displayed in real-time. This data was then analysed, participants were recommended a boot to suit their agility style and placed on a leader-board."

"Kin Collaborated with Nokia and Fashion Designers Fyodor Golan to design and make an interactive skirt that was unveiled as part of London fashion week. Kin worked closely with Fyodor Golan designing the pattern for the skirt, with strong emphasis on the form of the dress and that the final structure became sculptural unique piece in its own right. Custom software was created to display still and moving content across all the screens, combined with the phones individual gyroscopes to create a shimmering effect as the model walks."

"Speakers' Corner is a traditional site for public speeches and debates since the mid 1800's when protests and demonstrations took place in Hyde Park. It is located on the north-east edge of Hyde Park, nearest Marble Arch and Oxford Street.

Historic figures such as Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin and George Orwell were known to often use the area to demonstrate free speech.

In 1872, an act of parliament set aside this part of Hyde Park for public speaking. Even today, on a Sunday morning, it's not unusual to find crowds gathering at Speakers' Corner to listen to enthusiasts expounding their views. Anyone can turn up unannounced to speak on any subject, as long as the police consider their speeches lawful."

"eBay and Rebecca Minkoff have teamed up to opened a digitally ‘connected store’ located in New York. The shop merges online and physical shopping. The ‘connected wall’ features a mirrored display that shows videos and inspirational content, and enables interaction as shoppers can touch the surface to request associates to prepare fitting rooms, order drinks and even change the environment’s lighting.

The ‘connected walls’ recognise all items in the room through RFID and identifies other sizes and colours that are available to the consumer. This creates an environment tailored for the customer’s needs and even works alongside mobile app."
